Glimpse Game Trailer

This was part of a game submission by V7 and the Masters of Digital Media Program to the 2010 Independent Games Festival. The deadline was yesterday and a trailer was required. This is what I came up with in a day, thanks to G7 Records and their hot Gucci Bag track that inspired the concept. I wish the team who has worked eight long months on this project the best of luck – you guys are gold.

Ultrasonix System Reliability

The engineering team here at Ultrasonix is focused on delivering reliable and durable products to market. One tool we use to determine possible issues is to run a series of tests on a vibration table to simulate real world transport and daily use conditions. We applied random vibration and shock loading to the Sonix Touch system to see how it would perform. Check out the video showing the Sonix Touch on the Vibration Table.
The system performed quite well. Using Solid State Harddrives ensures system recovery even after aggressive random vibration and shock loading with power being applied to the system.

Hipster Vancouver at the Museum of Vancouver

Kinga Gorski sent me a message on Facebook about the show she is currently working on over at dose.ca. She’s a very passionate and talented actress who will be going places, starting with the TELUS Whistler Ski/Snowboard Festival.

Here is another snippet from Gorilla Love where Kinga and Alvin Tran go head to head in a high school cafeteria. Oh did I forget to mention she’s a total badass?

Gorilla Love Cupcakes

I needed to test the High Definition encoding on YouTube so I exported this scene from the short film Gorilla Love, filmed on location at Cupcakes Vancouver and produced at the University of British Columbia in 2007. I found that the quality of video that YouTube can now handle is amazing; even with all the action on screen, it stays crisp! As for the video, completely out of context – Yes.

This project was a final for Film 469B at the University of British Columbia. The faculty managed to call up network television director Bobby Roth to teach us what he has learned in his twenty five years in the industry. It was probably one of the greatest class experiences I’ve had.
