Lessons Learned by Matt and Kim
The punk-dance duo from Brooklyn, New York, are familiar with online popularity proven by the success of their previous music video Yea Yea, attracting over half a million views on YouTube, and now they’re back again.
The concept for Lessons Learned utilizes a viral strategy that blurs the lines of reality. Starting the narrative off in the back of a truck that opens onto New York’s Time Square, what unfolds is a video that is well-paced, visually entertaining and one surprise after another.
I personally think they could have done without the last ten seconds because the build up is shocking enough, not to mention it’s an effect we’ve all seen one too many times. I would have liked the retained idea of it all a risky guerilla shoot rather than a staged production. Oh wells, I like the overall package too much not to post.
