The Birds of Prey Are Here
Taxi, named Strategy Magazine’s agency of the year, generates another successful Vancouver Aquarium marketing campaign. Amidst the crowd during a beautiful spring morning in Vancouver, I noticed two eye catching posters depicting Birds of Prey pilfering from what seemed to be the Aquarium gift shop.
I didn’t get it at first, finding it strange that the Vancouver Aquarium would host a bird show. However, after taking a glimpse through the press release it made perfect sense. The VP of Marketing and Communications states, “These birds are vital to the future of marine ecosystems and that’s what we hope our visitors will understand.” What an fantastic concept for the Aquarium that avoids the whole drowned out fish exhibits. When it gets a little closer to summer, you can bet I’ll take a trip downtown and make a date of it. You should too, if you’re in the Lower Mainland.
Watch an eagle as he soars overhead, then skillfully descends to a perch beside the audience. Feel the breeze as a vulture glides through the air, and be thrilled as a hawk buzzes past you, demonstrating his amazing aerial agility.
And of course, no advertising campaign is complete without a stellar video component. The commercial speaks for itself. I bet Taxi had fun with this one:
